I became a member of EVAC as I had experienced a traumatic event in the past. When I heard about EVAC being launched I immediately got my membership in March 2008. In May 2008 unfortunately my family and I were travelling on the way back from the Air Port at 5:00 am in the morning. We were returning from our annual vacation and met with an accident on the Baloch Colony by-pass near Hino Chowk. Both vehicles were disabled. Luckily there were no injuries to my family and the other person who hit us. However the time was such that it was not safe at all to leave my family behind and seek for help. The other individual decided to leave the accident area and get help. Traffic was plenty on the by-pass however; every vehicle we requested to stop would slow down and then pass us. Times are bad in Karachi and very few people stop for help. Anyhow, I recalled purchasing EVAC’s membership as the membership sticker was on my windscreen. I immediately contacted the EVAC hotline at 111-GO-EVAC, and was greeted at one ring by an EVAC operator. I explained my problem and in 20 minutes I was greeted with Recovery Truck. The recovery truck to transport my disabled vehicle to a garage of my choice. I felt safe when I saw the EVAC vehicle approaching. I felt proud, and happy that Karachi now has a 24 hour emergency hotline to serve for the betterment and peace of mind of people. The EVAC responding team was courteous, extremely helpful and efficient. I would not even blink an eye in recommending people to get this membership. I think it is not a luxury but a necessity to have this membership.

I became a member of EVAC in March 2008. The group starting this project was known to me, and I wanted to be part of the founding members. I knew I would need this service living in Karachi, as many times in the past I had experienced automotive problems, where I would have to either call my family or friends for help. And disturbing other people and relatives at all odd hours of the night wouldn’t make me feel comfortable. Two weeks later I was travelling to Hong Kong for business. It was an early morning flight 6:00 am from Karachi International Airport. My driver and I sat in the vehicle and the vehicle didn’t start. I have another vehicle’s in my house. However as luck would have it the other vehicle was in the garage over night for its quarterly service. I didn’t know what to do. I tried calling metro cab for an airport drop service. Then I remembered that I had just become a member of EVAC. I called the EVAC hotline mentioned on windscreen sticker provided by EVAC at the time of membership. I was at once greeted by the EVAC operator. I explained by problem to them. 30 minutes later Mobile Workshop arrived. Mobile Workshop diagnosed that my vehicle battery needed replacement. Mobile Workshop solve my problem and I got on my flight to Hong Kong. EVAC in my analysis is a necessity membership which everyone should have. Emergencies don’t announce themselves before coming. And they can happen to anyone, and at any time. No matter how many vehicles one has or drivers, I have noticed that Emergencies happen at that time, when all resources are somehow not available. Congrats to the EVAC management team for bringing such a service to Pakistan.

I became a member of EVAC in January 2008 after noticing two of EVAC trucks on main shahrah-e-faisal, rescuing a broken down vehicle. The trucks were brilliant red, with yellow lights flashing and it caught my eyes. I noted the number down on my cell phone and decided to call and find out what EVAC is. Later on I found out that it is a road-side assistance membership program. I decided to become a member. Although at that time it hadn’t been officially launched, I insisted in becoming a member. I am a working lady who travels to and back from work every day. My biggest fear in life in Karachi is either my vehicle breaking down at the worst time of traffic or at night, or getting hi-jacked. EVAC was great. I became a member and they informed me that they officially will launch in the summer of 2008, however they were prepared to cover me in an unforeseen circumstance.  Last month in June, I was travelling at 8:30 am in the morning on main mai-kolachi heading to work and my vehicle suddenly shuddered and stop bang in the main road. Causing vehicles to screech behind me. I could see a traffic jam happening behind me. I immediately called up EVAC, and requested for their service. 15 minutes later I was greeted by a mobile-workshop. Later on, the vehicle had to be taken to a garage for repairs. They sent my vehicle to a workshop, I didn’t know where to send it. They recommended a manufacturers official garage where I sent my vehicle. The garage people called me up and I took up the matter with them for the repairs. I think it’s a blessing to have something like EVAC. And especially for working women. I have recommended EVAC to everyone and anyone I know. I think everyone should have it.
